Ultrafast photoinduced reflectivity transients in ( Nd 0 . 5 Sr 0 . 5

چکیده
The temperature dependence of ultrafast photoinduced reflectivity transients is reported in Nd0.5Sr0.5MnO3 thin film. The photoinduced reflectivity shows a complex response with very different temperature dependences on different timescales. The response on the sub-ps timescale appears to be only weakly sensitive to the 270K-metal-insulator phase transition. Below ∼ 160 K the sub-ps response displays a two component behavior indicating inhomogeneity of the film resulting from the substrate induced strain. On the other hand, the slower response on the 10-100 ps timescale is sensitive only to the metalinsulator phase transition and is in agreement with some previously published results. The difference in the temperature dependences of the responses on nanosecond and μs timescales indicates that thermal equilibrium between the

Provenance of lithogenic surface sediments and pathways of riverine suspended matter in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea: evidence from Nd/Nd and Sr/Sr ratios
In order to characterize the provenance of lithogenic surface sediments from the Eastern Mediterranean Sea (EMS), residual (leached) fraction of 34 surface samples have been analysed for their Nd/Nd and Sr/Sr isotope ratios. The sample locations bracket all important entrances of riverine suspended matter into the EMS as well as all sub-basins of the EMS. The combined analyses of these two isot...
متن کاملUltrafast photoinduced phase separation dynamics in Pr0.6Ca0.4MnO3 thin films
The time resolved Magnetooptical Kerr effect in the substrate-strain-induced insulating ferromagnetic phase in (Pr0.6Ca0.4)MnO3 thin films on two different substrates was measured in a magnetic field up to 1.1T. The photoinduced Kerr rotation and ellipticity show remarkably different magnetic-field dependence. From the comparison of the magnetic field dependencies of the photoinduced and static...
متن کاملRelationship between myoplasmic calcium transients and calcium currents in frog skeletal muscle
Ca2+ currents (ICa) and myoplasmic Ca2+ transients were simultaneously recorded in single muscle fibers from the semitendinosus muscle of Rana pipiens. The vaseline-gap voltage-clamp technique was used. Ca2+ transients were recorded with the metallochromic indicator dye antipyrylazo III. Ca2+ transients consisted of an early fast rising phase followed by a late slower one. The second phase was ...
متن کاملUltrafast optical nonlinearity in quasi - one - dimensional Mott - insulator Sr 2 CuO 3
We report strong instantaneous photoinduced absorption in the quasi-one-dimensional Mott insulator Sr 2 CuO 3 in the IR spectral region. The observed photoinduced absorption is to an even-parity two-photon state that occurs immediately above the absorption edge. Theoretical calculation based on a two-band extended Hubbard model explains the experimental features and indicates that the strong tw...
